The Shorinji ryu association of Finland was founded in 1996 to promote Kokusai Shorinji ryu karatedo amongst its members, to aid its participates spiritual and physical growth and to teach about budospirit.
To carry out the associations purpose, the association provides training and education in various forms. The association also maintains and develops international connections and oversees its members common interests.
Kokusai Shorinji ryu has its own dan kollegio in the Finnish karate federation.

The association member clubs practice Kokusai Shorinji ryu Karatedo style, the head teacher of which is Yuji Matsuoi sensei, 8. dan Hanshi
